FAQs
Is Wolfworthy suitable for puppies?
Yes it is. Wolfworthy is suitable for puppies, adult dogs and senior dogs. The amount you feed your puppy will differ as it grows into a strong adult dog. We are really happy to help with the amount they need. For free advice just drop us an email on reachus@wolfworthy.co.uk or click the chat icon on our website.
Can I try before I buy?
Sure. We sell a 60g sample of our food. This is a taste test to ensure your dog will like it before you buy in a larger amount.
How is Wolfworthy made?
Wolfworthy is gently steam-cooked in small batches at around 90 degrees centigrade. This is a temperature that allows us to kill harmful bacteria (Salmonella, E-coli and Campylobacter) and preserve as much of the natural goodness as possible.
Where is your food made?
We are proud to say our food is made in the UK where the highest standards during production are extremely important. Being eco-friendly is important to us, by making our food in the UK it means we keep transportation low which is better for the planet.
Where is your meat from?
At Wolfworthy the quality of our meat is important. Our fresh chicken is from the UK, as is our beef liver, kidney and heart. Our trout is from the UK or Ireland. Our Salmon is mainly from Scotland but occasionally when stocks are low we have to go to Norway. We always use free range British eggs in our recipe.
How do I know how much my dog will need?
We have calculated how much your dog will need based on their current weight. Click here to see our chart. This is a good starting point but may need to be adjusted depending on their activity level and age. If your dog needs to lose a few pounds email us at support@wolfworthy.co.uk so we can discuss the right amount to feed your pooch. Our blog How can I help my dog to lose weight? is also a good reference. If you have a puppy please contact us so we can work out the amount they should have while they are growing.
Do you do a diet variety?
We believe dogs are healthiest when they are fed the correct amount of highly nutritious food without any rubbish or fillers. Based on the natural diet dogs evolved to eat, Wolfworthy is high in animal protein and contains no grain, no artificial colours, no artificial preservatives, no added salt, no GM ingredients, no added sugar and no artificial flavours, which makes it wholesome, healthy & delicious! A dog getting the right amount of exercise and the best diet possible will thrive. Diet foods are often made from nutritionally low fillers which are not best for your dog.
We believe that our dogs live long, healthy and active lives when they are fed the wholesome natural food that they evolved to eat. This includes Freshly Prepared Meat, Organ Meat, Fruit, Vegetables, Herbs & Botanicals.

Do I have to subscribe or can I buy bags as and when I need them?
You can make one-off purchases of our food and treats whenever you like, you do not need to subscribe to be able to buy our food. Simply select 'One-time purchase' at the checkout.
When you chose to set up a subscription you can relax knowing you will never forget to buy food or run out of again. You also receive a 10% discount on all bags of food and treats. You can, of course, manage your delivery and amend, update or cancel at any time.
I have set up a subscription. How do I know when my food is coming?
You select how often you want your delivery to be - for example, every a month. You will receive a notification 2 days before your order is prepared (in case you need to make any adjustments). Payment is not taken until 2 days later when your food is dispatched (large 7.5 kg bags are delivered in 24 hrs, smaller 1.5 kg bags in 2-3 days).
What if I want to change my subscription?
You will have an account where you can manage your deliveries easily. So if you are going on holiday or need your food earlier than normal you can change your delivery date. If you want to add a treat or try a different treat this month you can do that in the same place.
Is your packaging recyclable?
Being friendly to the planet is really important to us. Our food bags are completely compostable, just remove the red tamper sticker before putting it on your compost heap or in the compost bin. Our shipping boxes are 100% cardboard which is widely recycled and even our 60g sample packets are compostable. We also use water-based inks when printing our bags and a courier who is committed to being carbon neutral to deliver our food.
Should I be concerned about DCM?
Canine Dialated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) has begun to be discussed more regularly in the dog world and by online media outlets. This is a problem which has been reported in the United States of which the causes are being investigated.
The cause of DCM is a subject of varied and often confusing debate. Among the discussed causes are nutrition, infectious and genetic predispositions. The bottom line is that no official cause has yet been published which supports any of the cases.
The American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) continue their investigation, working with scientists and veterinary cardiologists.
The FDA has named 16 brands of dog food that are linked to DCM (some of which are on sale in the UK). All 16 of these foods are subject to approval by the American Pet Food Regulator (AAFCO). It is important to note that no cases have been reported in the UK or Europe where we follow the stricter standards laid down by the EU regulator (FEDIAF).
FEDIAF will not approve a food to be nutritionally 'complete' if it does not contain everything a dog needs for everyday health and well-being in normal, healthy dogs.
Wolfworthy has been approved by FEDIAF to be a nutritionally complete food.
What about DCM and legumes?
There is some concern that the high amount of legumes added to some grain-free dog foods might be a potential cause of DCM. You can rest assured that Wolfworthy does not contain any legumes whatsoever.
